Wall Plaque

I have been wanting to do crafts again for quite a while. Since I am now doing school online, I have a bit more time.
I found this plaque at the DI for $2.00 The saying on it made NO sense at all. So I started peeling off all those vinyl letters. What a pain!!

Finally, they are all off.

I sanded it down so that it was smooth where the vinyl lettering was. I wanted to keep the pink underneath, so I only sanded in the middle.

I then gave it a coat of black semi gloss spray paint.

After it dried most of the way, I sanded so that the pink showed through on the edges.

I then added the new vinyl lettering that I had bought on clearance, um, about 5 years ago. Crazy!!
So all in all this cost me $2.00 and my time. Not bad for a baby gift for my nieces daughter.

Forever and a Day......

It seems like it has been forever and a day since I blogged last. I love doing it, but I find that I don't have the time or the program skills to make it what I really like.

Kamdan turned 8! He had a sock monkey birthday party. I had a lot of fun doing the decorations for this party.

Khydan turned 10. 10!!!!! Since when do I have a 10 yr old??? We did a really fun Angry Birds birthday party for him. It was so much fun! He is in the 4th grade. He also graduated to Webelos in scouts. He is still taking piano and guitar lessons. He will start tap lessons as soon as the studio that we go to adds it to their program. (next month we hope.)

I got to go to Florida for the first time ever!! I was with some amazing women learning how to build a successful business. I had a blast!!

After our 2 days of training, we then had to days at Disney World. I had a great time and would love to go back again some day.

Kezedan turned 5 on April 26th. Wow! My little man is getting so big. I am amazed at how much he has grown and learned. He still loves horses, and asked for one for his birthday. He is my bug catcher. He loves looking and catching all things that crawl and fly. He still loves Spiderman, too.

He took his assesment for Kindergarten and was smart enough to start 1st grade math! (Just one of the perks of homeschooling)

Kezedan wanted a Spiderman cake, so Dan & I made one. we had to make a wheat free one because of Olivia, so it tasted more like a brownie, but still good.

Olivia turned 2 in October! She is such a ham!! Our family has been so blessed to have her sweet spirit in our lives. She knows all her abc's and loves to sing and dance. She likes to copy her brothers when they do their karate and loves playing Star Wars with them. She also loves all things princess. She came home from Aunt Renee's house calling herself Princess Olivia! Gosh, I love this girl!! Happy 2nd Birthday, Olivia!!

Khydan turned 8 in August and was baptized by his dad. Such a wonderful day for the whole family. Khydan made the wonderful decision to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I couldn't be prouder of him.I cannot believe that my baby boy is 8 years old. Time has just flown by. I remember everything about my pregnancy with him. How we decided on his name before we even knew he was a boy, how amazing his birth was. I absolutely LOVE this boy!! Khydan has a true love for all things movies. He wants to make his own movies when he is older, and I think he is totally capable of making an awesome career of it. He loves riding his bike and making his own comic books too. Khydan was able to start scouts when he turned 8. He competed in his first pine wood derby and got 3rd place! He also got a certificate for car with the shiniest finish (only because Dan and him buffed out major!)

New School Year

So the new school year has started for us all. Khydan in is 2nd grade, Kamdan in 1st, and Kezedan is in preschool. We are doing the home schooling again this year, so I love having the flexilbility that that offers. Pajama day is a favorite for us. Kezedan is doing a online preschool that was offered through the state. It has been enjoyed by all of my kids. Olivia looks forward to doing school with Kezedan everyday. She has picked up on her alphabits and letter sounds really fast. A huge benefit to having the kids schooled at home is the younger ones pick up on it a lot faster. I am also in school again this semester. I am taking American History, English 1010, and a Latin Ballroom. I am really enjoing all of my classes, but the dance class is my fav! :) Dan is still working a ton. I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to the winter months as far as income goes. I am praying that we will make it through.
Khydan turned 8 in August. In our LDS religion, that is a big deal. He was baptized on September 5th. It was such a cool thing to see Dan able to perform that special blessing on our son. WOW! I blows my mind that I have an 8 year old!!! CRAZY!!!!!!!!
Kamdan turned 6 in August and he is my big ball of energy. He and Olivia are so cute to watch together. They can just look at each other and start laughing. It is hilarious to watch, and the laughter is contagious.
Amelia is rolling over now, cutting her teeth, babbling, and starting to laugh. I can't believe she is 4 months old already. Time flies. She is definetly my biggest baby. She is fitting in clothes that Olivia was wearing when she was 9 months old!!

Amelia had a fun photo shoot this last week. Although, she was completely unaware of it even happening! Our friend Alisha took some amazing pics! Our first try at this photo shoot was two weeks ago. Monday the 4th I had a prenatal with my midwife. She was head down, and everything was good. I had a ultrasound on the 5th to check the position of the placenta, and she was now transverse & the cord was down. Bad news. My doctor wanted to schedule a c-section right there, but that was a lot of info to take in and I needed to talk to Dan. I spoke to my midwife and then my mom on the way home; well bawled really. I then talked to Dan when I got home. Dan had to finish working, so Dans' dad said he would come back later so he and Dan could give me a blessing. I did a lot of thinking, praying, and soul searching in that time. As much as I wanted a home birth, I wanted a healthy baby more. When Dan got home, we went to the doctors' office to sign the consent forms for the c-section. Dan kept asking me if I was sure. He wanted me to make the decision, not based on fear. When we got back from the doctor, Dan and his dad gave me a wonderful blessing.

I did not sleep at all that night, knowing we were about to have surgery the next morning. This all happened so fast. We got to the hospital at 9 am. We had the best nurse! She explained everything, and wanted us to be really comfortable with what was about to happen. She also had a hard time keeping a heart monitor on the baby. She was just everywhere. The nurse suggested that the doctor do another ultrasound to see where the baby was now. She was head down! The doctor suggested that we start me on some pitt to get contractions going so she stayed head down. They would then break my water after some time in labor. My water was broken at 12:30-ish, and hard labor didn't kick in until 5-ish. The baby was posterior so pushing was not fun. I pushed for under 10 minutes. Amelia Samantha was born May 6, 2009 at 7:54 pm, weighing 7 lbs. 15.2 oz. and 20.5 inches long. She has a head full of dark hair, and is gorgeous! She has truly been such a blessing in our family already. I couldn't imagine life without her.

Yeah, I have finished my first semester in college. I got an A in english & a B in biology. I am very pleased with these grades. I will be taking LIB online over the summer. I will be taking english, history and a dance class in the fall.

I have only 15 days left in this pregnancy! That makes me so happy. (although, I would be happy if it happened now!) I am pretty prepared for this little girl. I have some diapers, a few newborn things, and the birth kit is ready as well. She had been head down for the last 2 months, a few weeks ago, she decided to go breech. I am not worried, I am confident that she will be in the right place for delivery.
The kids are excited to meet their new sister.

Kezedan just turned 4. I am in shock that he is 4 already!!! It has gone way too fast. We had a fun party here for his friends and him. I am glad it is over though!

A lot has been happenning recently. Dan hurt his back backin August & he has been having a lot of problems with it. When we were in California for Christmas, my mom (she is an accupuncturist) and the chiropractor she works with, treated his back. It has been slowly getting better with continued treatment here at home. It is noce to see him be able to play and hold the kids again. Not being able to play with daddy has been really hard on the kids.
Business has started to pick up. It has been really nice to have a boost in income.
Dan had his 35th birthday in March. He is just getting yummier with age! :o)
I am still in school. I have finals in 2 weeks then I will take an online class over the summer. I am going back (maybe full time) in the fall.
We are looking forward to doing a lot of camping this summer.
Kezedan turns 4 april 26th. I can't believe he is that old already. Amazing how time flies!
Also at the end of April, Dan & I will be celebrating our 9 year wedding anniversary. I am more in love with him now, than I ever have been. I have enjoyed this adventure we are taking together, even when the times are bad. I know that things will get better and we will be stronger because of it.
May 16th is still the due date for our new little girl to arrive. I am looking forward to having my body back! We are going to be doing another home birth. We have gotten everything ordered and are ready to go. The kids are ready to meet their little sister, and Dan & I are ready to meet our daughter.

I am so happy to write about Ellens' new baby boy! Jackson Alma Connor was born on March 17th @3:59 pm. He was 8lbs. even & 20 inches long. Ellen and baby are home and doing well. I can't wait to meet him!

I am happy to say that after 4 weeks, Kamdan has stopped sucking his thumbs! He has earned a trip to Disneyland later in the year. He is really happy to be done with it, and we are so proud of him!

We were finally successful using a products called Thumb Gaurds. They can be purchased from leapsandbounds.com. They are a little pricey, but so worth it.

Back to School

Yes I went back to school. It only took me 14 years, but I did it. I am only a part time student, but it feels like full time. Between all the homework I have and the tests that I study for, I don't really have any free time left. I am still home schooling our kids so that too adds to my work load. Dan has been really supportive, and is a great tutor. I finish this semester just 3 weeks before this baby is due. I will probably only take 1 class over the summer. (just to keep me in school mode.) I will then start up again in the fall with 2-3 classes. I wish I would have done it sooner, but I am glad that I am doing it now because I know that I want to be there. I have a desire to learn again.

Khydan is a great helper. He is so extremely protective of Olivia. It is quite cute. He is already planning his birthday party and it is not until August!
Kamdan is really excited about starting gymnastics. Dan's parents bought him a month at Barefoot Gymnastics for his birthday in 2007! I still haven't used it. I know, I suck!
Kezedan wants to buy a horse for his birthday this year. I have tried to explain that that won't happen, but he's 3, and he has his own reality.
Olivia is getting so big. She is now 15 months old and such a girly girl. she loves her shoes, and getting her hair done. She likes to pick out her own outfits everyday too.

I can't post any pictures yet, because we are still in Cali. I just wanted to write a short update.
Christmas was so wonderful. It was a real treat for us to come here and spend this holiday with my family. Santa got us a wii! Yeah for us. I am looking forward to getting the wii fit to use after the baby comes. It is so warm here!! In the 70's. I talked to my sister in law yesterday, and it is in the 30's back home. Burrrr!!
Dan is looking into new job oppurtunities outside of St. George. It will be wierd living somewhere else, but looking forward to having more of a stable income. It is going to suck working for someone else after being our own boss for so long, but you do what you have to do. I start school on Monday. Scary........

Let me start at the beginning....

Last night at 10:30, my friend Renee texted me to see if I had lunch plans for today. I asked Dan if it was okay for me to go. (budget) He said it was fine. So today @ noon, the kids and I went to Panda Garden and met Renee. It was fun. It is always nice to eat in a restaurant.

So we were turning the corner to come home, and we saw Dan's car parked in front of the house. I said "daddy's home!". The kids were excited, and so was I. I love it when he has short work days. More time with the family. I tried to open the door, but it was locked. Dan came to the door, and was blocking everyone from getting in. He then let us all in together to a

Decorating

So today I decided to put up my christmas decorations. I hung the wreaths outside on the house. I was going to start the lights, but then thought it wouldn't be such a good idea. My neighbors would probably think I was crazy. (being 5 months pregnant and all!)

I got the inside decorations done, with the exception of the tree. I am thinking, and really hating the idea, of doing a fake tree this year.

We will be in LA for Christmas this year. I just don't want to have to take the tree down before we go, or risk leaving it up. I know, I know.... if it's unplugged it's not a big deal. But, it will be so dead by the time we get back it will be a pain to do it then.

We LOVE Christmas time. I love the decorating, the music, the meaning. It is truely a magical time of year.

One of my boys favorite past times is drawing on computer paper. They love to create their own masterpieces. They then cut them out, and hang them on their walls, the fridge, or any other wall that has room. Yesterday Kamdan drew a picture of me.

I don't know why I am frowning, then again everything they draw seem to be sad. Maybe that is a super hero thing. (that is usually what they draw.)

Wow, it is busy, busy, busy here for us. Life gives no option for slowing down!

I just got back from a wonderful trip to Washington (state) visiting my BFF and her family. It was colder than I am used to, but a lot of fun!

I looked at some apartments while there, and got some info on some rental homes.

I have been accepted for a pell grant (yah!), so I will be starting school January 4, 2009. I am going to be starting my generals, and go from there.

I am now 13 weeks along, and I seem to be getting some energy back. I am really looking forward to this pregnancy being done! It is a lot harder the older you are & with having other kids to deal with. No sleep for the weary.........

Dan is looking for a night job, to get us through the winter months. Darn cold, short days!! He is also going to start teaching guitar.

The guitar lessons is something that he will continue to do in Washington. They are in need of some teachers there. Ellen's daughters piano teacher said that there were only a few teachers there, and that they are in need of some more. That was nice to find out!

So, I thought it was time to do an update with pictures, since I am already on the computer.

Khydan got a "new" mountain bike from the DI for $15! Such a steal! All it needs is some TLC, and it will be good to go.

Olivia turned 1 on October 9th. We had a fun party with lots of friends and family. She LOVED her cake!

So Halloween is almost here! Yeah! We are all really excited, as it is our favorite family holiday. Khydan is going to be Ironman. Kamdan is going to be Flash. Kezedan is going to be Spiderman, and Olivia is going to be a monkey. Dan will be his usual scary clown, and I am going to be an overworked, sleep deprived, pregnant mother of 4. Perfect fit, I think.

I am no longer working. After working 2 jobs for 3 months, I am burned out!! I had my first Saturday off since July!!!!!!! So very nice.

We had a garage sale. It was nice to get rid of some crap. We used our earnings to buy the kids some winter clothes.

Khydan has lost yet another tooth!! Amazing! Pretty soon that boy is going to be gumming it!

We have started our German classes. That has been really fun. It is pretty difficult to get the "phlegm" sound in the right place though. But we are trying. Luckily, my aunt Rijckie speaks German, so we can turn to her for the corrections.

Kezedan is now out of his toddler bed, and into a full size twin bed.

Olivia is practically running. She is talking allot more as well. I can't believe that she is going to be 1 in 2 weeks!! How crazy is that?!? It has gone by way too quickly. She has been allot of fun to have in family.

So my weight loss goal..... I didn't make the 25 lbs. oh well. I have had great success with it none the less. I have lost 12 lbs.

arms- was: 14 in. now: 13 in.

thighs- was:25 in. now: 23in.

hip- was: 43in. now:40 1/2

waist- was: 43 in. now: 391/2 in.

tummy- was: 40 in. now:37 in.

I can proudly say that I feel really good. I am also fitting into clothes that I haven't been able to get on for 2 years.

Now that I am ______. (Geez, I can't even say it!!!) I am not going to be all crazy about losing weight. I am going to be smart. Continue to work out and watch what I eat.

weight loss, and SHOCKING update

I have lost 12 lbs.! Yeah!!! I have also lost multiple inches. I am wearing clothes that I haven't been able to wear for 2 years! I started jogging, and boy do my legs HURT!!!! But I am determined to keep up with my good progress, even though we are (very unexpectedly) having another baby. Dan is SO getting snipped after this one! I am still not sure of what to think. I am not quite ready for congratulations, but I will get there eventually. I am now stressing about our house being WAY too small, our car needing to be a bit newer. (ours is a 91) How we are going to have 2 babies in diapers. Olivia isn't even one yet, etc, etc.

If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Yeah! August is over!!! We have completed 3 weeks of home schooling. It is getting easier the more we do it. I really recommend it to any parent who wants to have more control over what their children are learning. (you can check out the website K12.com)

Olivia is walking and talking so much more. She is so much fun to have around!

Kezedan is so inquisitive. He really wants to do school with his brothers. So we give some coloring pages to do.

Kamdan is really doing so well. He has really nice penmanship, and is very smart. He turned 5 on Aug. 13th.

Khydan is a lot farther along than I even knew. He is constantly telling me "I already learned that!" Oh well, I am doing the best I can to find where he is needing to be. His birthday was Aug. 28th and is now 7.

being silly!

So I got a job last week. It has been really hard being away from the kiddies, but I need to help out the family. Olivia took her first 2 steps yesterday. That was such a cute, but depressing moment. She is growing way too fast! She will be 10 mths. old on the 9th. of August! It has gone so fast.

Khydan & Kamdan are both having birthdays next month. We have their gifts done! WHO-HOO!! Now I can start on Christmas!

I am still doing the weight loss. Although, I haven't really lost anymore weight since the 6lbs. But I have lost 3+ inches from my stomach, thighs, and so forth! I know, I am crazy for even talking about this. But, no one has ever called me a sane person!!! I have nothing to loose. I have to look at myself everyday. If I am not honest, then I will fail.

Dan went into the studio to lay down some tracks. for a drummer to practice to. Hopefully, he will find a drummer that can keep up!

We will be home schooling the boys. We are doing the K12 program. Our school district offers it. That is so awesome!! We are really looking forward to that.

sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We went camping for a week to Fish lake, Ut. (it's by Capital reef National Park) it was very pretty and a great time with family. Dan's parents and his brother roger and his family went with us.

I will have to post pics later. Our internet is having problems that the company is having trouble fixing. So it takes 20 mins to upload pics. So annoying!

I got a job. I will be working 3-4 nights a week. Not much, but at least it will buy groceries.

I have lost 6 lbs.! Yeah. I am really excited about that.

Khydan lost his first front top tooth. He pulled it out himself. GROSS! I don't do loose teeth, sick!

Olivia is standing on her own now. She also says bye & waves. She is getting way too big, too fast.

We got Khydan and Kamdan enrolled in the K12 program. It is a home schooling program through our public school system. It is really awesome. We have chosen German as our world language to learn as a family.

Dan is keeping very busy with work. He is trying to squeeze in guitar time as much as possible. It is so nice to just relax and listen to him play. He is an amazing musician.

Not much else is happening here. As soon as we have a better connection, I will post lots of pics.

Do you realize how hard it is to have to decide if you are going to re-enter the outside work force? I have so many mixed feeling about what I am supposed to do. I want to help take some of the pressure off of Dan. I want to have some extra income to off- set all the rising prices of gas, food, etc. I just wish this was an easy cut and dry decision. But, it's not. This decision will affect everyone in my family. I am not sure if the result will be positive or negative.

Man, I love this little girl so much. She has been such a blessing to our family. I had no idea that a child could be so happy all the time!
